Italian Citizenship

In order to aquire your Italian Dual Citizenship for People of Italian Descent you will need to know which Italian ancestor was the first to arrive in the United States, know if that ancestor became a naturalized U.S. citizen, and if so, the precise date.

In order to find out this information, you will need to aquire the record of natualization paper through The Freedom of Information Privacy Act Request.  The form to reqest that info is available for download:

Form G-639, Freedom of Information Privacy Act Request

You will then receive a reply from Washington D.C. whether your ancestor did or did not receive natualization.  If they did not, we can move forward with your Italian citizenship.   If that ancestor was naturalized, it must have been after their first child was born in order to apply for Italian citizenship.
